The Taste Riverina Festival has been listed as one of Australia’s top 10 Food and Wine Festivals in the latest issue of the Time to Roam travel magazine.

The month-long Festival in October which was held for the fifth time in 2016 was named alongside long-running and nationally-renowned festivals including Orange F.O.O.D. Week, Barossa Gourmet Weekend and Noosa International Food and Wine Festival.

Chair of Riverina Regional Tourism (RRT), Craig Sinclair, said: “Taste Riverina really has become the showcase event for our region’s diverse range of fresh local produce, talented chefs and agricultural experiences, and this recognition will raise its profile among Australian travellers.”

“In 2016, the Festival attracted over 35,000 visitors who spent more than $1.3 million at 70 events in various towns and cities across the region. By continuing to collaborate with stakeholders, industry and event operators, we can further grow Taste Riverina and develop our region’s prosperity over the coming years”, he said.

The Taste Riverina Festival is held throughout October each year and includes many unique events and experiences, from wine tastings, markets and degustation dinners to farm tours, and hands-on cooking or butchery classes.
