The region's Visiting Friends and Relatives campaign, Reunite in the Riverina, has reached over 200,000 audience on social media so far, and expected to increase its audience with the campaign building to nearly 400,000 by the middle of October.

The timing of this campaign coincides with school holidays, the October long-weekend and Taste Riverina Festival during October. Nearly 100 entries have been received as online registrations, promoting the prize of the Ultimate Long Lunch for the entrant and 10 of their friends, worth over $2,000.

Regional hampers have been distributed to West Wyalong, Leeton, Griffith and Wagga Wagga winners of the weekly competitions, with the ultimate prize drawn in November.

Print media was used to distribute the A4 flyer promoting the campaign, with coupons listed within the flyer to encourage redemptions. Television commercials within the Riverina during August and September are expected to build the momentum. This integrated marketing approach is set to continue for the duration of the campaign, with social media posts generating the conversations between locals and their VFR market, which is expected to make the conversion to overnight visitation and tourism expenditure during the warmer months.
