Riverina Regional Tourism (RRT) is looking for three enthusiastic and experienced people to join its Board as a Director and help develop the region’s tourism industry.

RRT, the region’s key tourism body, facilitates and coordinates tourism industry development and marketing activities for the Riverina, with Directors helping to set the strategic direction of the organisation. RRT is comprised of 17 Local Government bodies who recognise the importance of tourism to the economic development of the Riverina.

According to the RRT constitution, these positions are earmarked for industry directors. Therefore, tourism industry operators and business people in related industries with the appropriate skills and experience are encouraged to apply.

These voluntary positions would suit applicants who are strategic thinkers with strong planning and leadership skills and have an interest in promoting the region to visitors. Knowledge of local government, tourism and marketing is also considered favourable.

Chair of Riverina Regional Tourism, Mr Greg Lawrence, said becoming a Director of the RRT board provides a great opportunity to play a practical role in developing the Riverina’s tourism industry.

“Being a Director on the RRT Board is a fantastic learning and networking experience and interested industry operators and others who meet the selection criteria are strongly encouraged to apply,” Mr Lawrence said.

“The Board consists of a maximum of ten directors who operate in a professional and cohesive manner, and are committed to achieving outcomes for the organisation and the region. As a Director, you will be involved in all aspects of the organisation, from strategic planning and marketing, to networking and being an ambassador for the region,” Mr Lawrence explained.

“It is an exciting time for Riverina Regional Tourism and the whole Riverina tourism industry at present, and being a Director on the Board will be a very rewarding experience,” Mr Lawrence continued.
