The Taste Riverina Festival was a finalist at the NSW Tourism Awards which were held at Luna Park in Sydney on Thursday, 24 November.

The month-long Festival which was celebrated for the fifth time in October this year was nominated in the Festivals and Events category, alongside well-established and nationally-acclaimed events such as the Deni Ute Muster, New Year’s Eve in Sydney Harbour and Parkes Elvis Festival who won Gold in the category this year.

Chair of Riverina Regional Tourism (RRT), Greg Lawrence, said: “We were very delighted to see Taste Riverina as a finalist in the NSW Tourism Awards, which was only possible thanks to our hard-working and talented growers, producers, chefs and other industry champions who inspire both locals and visitors from outside the Riverina to attend the events.”

“This nomination has increased the awareness for Taste Riverina and will further raise the profile of our region as a must-visit food, wine, beer and agritourism destination”, he said.

RRT would like to congratulate Tania Sibrey and her team at Food I Am in Wagga Wagga for winning Bronze in the Excellence in Food Tourism category. Food I Am has been a supporter of Taste Riverina since its beginning and hosted 11 events for the Festival this year.

Taste Riverina is the showcase festival for the region’s diverse range of produce and comprises many unique events at various towns and cities across the Riverina throughout October. Taste Riverina is proudly supported by the NSW Government as part of its Regional Flagship Events Program.
