Lockhart Shire’s oldest village, Yerong Creek, is located about 56km from the main centre of Lockhart, between Wagga Wagga and Albury on the Olympic Highway.
Originally named Yerong when it was established in the 1870s, the name changed to Yerong Creek when the railway arrived in 1881.

Boasting a wide, park-like main street, The Rock is also home to The Rock Hill a majestic mountain of rock giving the town its name.

While the village is small its setting of native bush and fertile farmland on rolling hills gives the sense the village is aptly named.

Milbrulong is located about 13km from the main Shire centre of Lockhart and forms part of the Lockhart Shire bird trails.
Milbrulong is derived from the Aboriginal word meaning ‘Rosella parrot’.
