V8 Superboats is one of the most extreme forms of motorsport on the planet. Lightweight dedicated aluminium racing boats are powered by engines with as much as 1500-horsepower around a navigational course just over two metres wide (and two feet deep) at speeds of just on 100 kilometres per hour. These crazy machines turn at up to six G (think jet fighter) and will accelerate to 100 kilometres per hour in around two seconds (on water!). Oh, and they don't have brakes which makes for one very interesting spectacle, especially under lights. Events are contested across NSW, from regional Temora and Griffith, to the coastal venue at Cabarita Beach (Tweed Coast).
