A very special "Centenary Open Day" will be taking place at Henry Lawson Cottage. Henry Lawson was sent to live in Leeton in 1916 to assist his recovery from alcoholism. He was given the job of writing about the new Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and was very successful in doing so. During his stay he had the use of a cottage in Daalbata Road which has been restored and is opened once a year to visitors. Leeton Mayor Paul Maytom will unveil the new interpretive sign at 1.30pm with recitals and afternoon tea at 2.00pm.
